Inspired by 'Every Subway Car' by the Barenaked Ladies. This song is about someone who vandalizes a subway turnaround in the name of the person they love. Several details were taken directly from the song:

- Backpack ('My backpack was faded black, but now it's all blue; it looks whack, but it's compact and works like brand new')
- bandanna (not specifically mentioned, but added for the line 'If I don't faint, ingesting paint, breathing all of these fumes')
- gloves ('spraypaint on my gloves')

These two are Kelly Ranvir and Remy Valdez. Remy is a starship captain, and Kelly is his first officer. These two just clicked with this song - Remy had a rebellious streak as a teen, and I don't think that ever really died down. Needless to say, he'd probably do something like this given the chance and the guarantee that his higher-ups wouldn't find out.
